Here's a message from Shirley Popovich Bugos:

Dear Classmates,

The summer is flying by and I hope you have made your reservations to attend our 55th class reunion. The mixer night before is on August 30 and the dinner is on August 31. I'm sure you received the information from the reunion committee.

It's a blessing to have reached this milestone and I know we all want to reconnect and share memories of our lives. I promise not to show you photos of our 16 grandchildren if you don't show me photos of your grandchildren!

Many thanks to the reunion committee for all their hard work in making this happen for us. Having served on several reunion committees before we moved to Oak Ridge, Tennessee, I know that it's lots of work, but I also remember how much fun it was too. Let's make sure their hard work wasn't in vain by attending. If you've never come to a reunion, I can assure you that you'll have a great time.

Ron and I are looking forward to seeing you there. We'll be driving up I-75 through Kentucky and Ohio a few days earlier. Let us know if we can pick you up!

Here's a message from Charles "Duke" Tullius:

Dear CHS Class of 1952,

As we approach our 55th reunion, one of the jobs of the reunion committee is to send out the letters with the reunion information. As a committee member, I am responsible for keeping the addresses of our classmates current. Believe me, it is a chore trying to find everyone. However, we all know that the success of the reunion depends on keeping the addresses current. Our classmates do move around the country and often. Luckily, the Internet White Pages are very useful in locating everyone. When I search for lost classmates, it becomes a challenge for me. That challenge is what keeps me going.

I place my Yearbook by the computer and as I search for lost classmates I remember each one of you fondly. I see you in the halls of CHS, in the chorus, in classrooms, some in the band marching up Miller Avenue to the stadium on Friday football nights and still others who participated in sports. At times I say, is it really 55 years since we graduated? Sometimes I say yes and then when I look at the yearbook it seems like yesterday. Where did the time go?

When I have completed my search and the letters are in the mail, I'm always hopeful you will make an effort to attend. If you only knew how much your presence is desired, I know you would make the effort to attend. For classmates who live either out of state or far away in Pennsylvania, the committee makes a special effort in trying to make your visit home enjoyable. We can't wait to see you again. So, if it is possible to attend, please come and have an enjoyable weekend with your CHS classmates. You will not regret it! Seeing you again, makes all of this effort worthwhile. I hope to see you at the end of August.....Duke Tullius

Message from Reunion Chairperson Gary LeDonne:

The committee has been hard at work planning our 55th Reunion. It's our hope that by your presence this can be one of the most memorable times in our adult lives. Let's step back slightly and renew those extraordinary and very special relationships that we developed so long ago. Experience the happy faces, so many hugs and warm handshakes.

Fifty-five years have come and gone and I'm sure we all wonder where! Looking back we all have been blessed. The 50's were a great time to grow up - just think about it for a minute. We had loving and hard working parents who raised their families to have a better life. C.H.S. was a great school for academics, sports and many other extra curricular activities that kept us all busy and out of trouble. Oh, I'm sure we all grumbled about the homework. I think now we realize how blessed we were to have such great teachers and administrators.

Unfortunately, Clairton is not the same today. Most of you would not recognize the place - including the high school.

Our memories of the old town and the great times we had growing up Clairton are special and will live with us forever. Thanks for the memories!

Many of our classmates are not with us today. We have lost a few more since our last reunion. This could very well be the last time to see and greet old friends and acquaintances - to tell them how you've thought about them and love them.

In reality, the committee would like to thank you, our classmates. Without you're encouragement and support no Reunion would be possible. You wonderful people make things happen. Pledge to be there in 2007.

The committee is proud to serve the Class of 1952.

Chairman - Gary LeDonne
